What is BAC water and why do I need it?
Bacteriostatic water (BAC water) is sterile water containing 0.9% benzyl alcohol. The benzyl alcohol acts as a preservative that prevents bacterial growth in your reconstituted peptide solution. This extends shelf life to 4-6 weeks refrigerated. Regular sterile water has no preservative and must be used within 24 hours.
What is the difference between BAC water and sterile water?
BAC water contains 0.9% benzyl alcohol (preservative). Stable for 4-6 weeks refrigerated after reconstitution. Sterile water has no preservative. Use within 24 hours. For most peptide protocols, BAC water is correct. Sterile water is used when benzyl alcohol is contraindicated.
How do I calculate units to draw on an insulin syringe?
Units = (target dose in mcg / concentration in mcg/mL) x syringe units per mL. Example: 250mcg dose, 2,500mcg/mL concentration, U-100 syringe = (250/2500) x 100 = 10 units. The

Can I shake the vial to mix the peptide?
No. Shaking can cause foaming and may degrade peptide bonds. Instead, gently swirl the vial in a circular motion until the powder fully dissolves. The solution should be completely clear.
How long does reconstituted peptide last?
With BAC water, refrigerated at 2-8 degrees C: most peptides are stable for 4-6 weeks. Frozen at -20 degrees C: typically 6-12 months. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles as this can degrade the peptide.
What if my reconstituted peptide is cloudy?
A clear solution is the goal. Cloudiness can indicate incomplete dissolution (give it more time to dissolve with gentle swirling) or potential contamination (do not use if contamination is suspected). Some peptides may have a slight yellow tint — this is normal for certain compounds.
How do I store reconstituted peptide?

Can I inject BAC water directly onto the peptide powder?
