How to Reconstitute BPC-157

BPC-157 comes as lyophilized powder. You add bacteriostatic water to make it injectable. The math takes 30 seconds. Getting it wrong means every dose is off. Here is exactly how to do it.

The Standard Setup

Most people running BPC-157 use a 5mg vial at 250mcg twice daily. That is the setup this guide assumes. If your dose or vial size differs, use the reconstitution calculator for your exact numbers.

Step 1 — Gather supplies

BPC-157 vial. Bacteriostatic water (BAC water — not sterile water, not normal saline). A 1mL or 3mL drawing syringe. Alcohol swabs. Clean surface. The BAC water must be bacteriostatic, not plain sterile water — benzyl alcohol is what prevents bacterial growth across multiple draws.

Step 2 — Swab both stoppers

Wipe the stopper of the BPC-157 vial and the BAC water vial with a fresh alcohol swab each. Let them dry for 10-15 seconds. Do not blow on them or touch the center after swabbing.

Step 3 — Draw the BAC water

Draw 2mL of bacteriostatic water into your drawing syringe. Insert the needle into the BAC water vial at an angle, pull the plunger slowly to avoid air bubbles.

Step 4 — Add to the peptide vial slowly

Insert the needle into the BPC-157 vial. Tilt the vial so the needle tip touches the glass wall. Release the BAC water slowly down the side — not directly onto the powder. Forcing water directly onto lyophilized powder can degrade the peptide. Let gravity and capillary action do the work.

Step 5 — Swirl, do not shake

Gently swirl the vial in a circular motion until the powder fully dissolves. The solution should be clear and colorless. Do not shake — shaking can break peptide bonds. If you see particles after 2-3 minutes of swirling, continue slowly. Most BPC-157 dissolves in 30-60 seconds.

Step 6 — Label and refrigerate

Label the vial with the date reconstituted, BAC water volume, and concentration. Store at 2-8°C (standard refrigerator temperature). Reconstituted BPC-157 in BAC water is stable for 28-30 days refrigerated. Do not freeze a reconstituted vial.

Subcutaneous vs Intramuscular

BPC-157 is typically injected subcutaneously (into fat tissue, not muscle). Most people inject in the abdomen, rotating sites to avoid tissue buildup. For injury-specific use, some protocols call for intramuscular injection near the affected area — this is a clinical decision, not a calculator one.

Use a 28-31 gauge insulin syringe for subcutaneous injection. Pinch a small fold of skin, insert at 45°, release the skin, inject slowly.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does reconstituted BPC-157 last?
Reconstituted BPC-157 stored in bacteriostatic water in the refrigerator (2-8°C) is stable for approximately 28-30 days. Freeze-dried lyophilized BPC-157 in a sealed vial can last 12-24 months stored properly. Do not freeze a reconstituted vial.
What if my BPC-157 does not dissolve?
Swirl gently for another 1-2 minutes. Most BPC-157 dissolves completely in BAC water within 60 seconds. If particles remain after 3 minutes, the peptide may have degraded or the BAC water may be contaminated. Do not inject a cloudy solution. Contact your supplier.
Can I use sterile water instead of BAC water?
Only for single-use reconstitution. Sterile water has no preservative, so a reconstituted vial should be used within 24 hours. Bacteriostatic water contains 0.9% benzyl alcohol which prevents bacterial growth and extends the stable life to 28-30 days. BAC water is the standard for multi-dose peptide vials.
How do I calculate a different dose or vial size?
Use the free calculator at reconstitution.health — enter your vial size, BAC water amount, and target dose to get concentration, draw units, and doses per vial. Custom Draw mode lets you specify your target syringe units and calculates the BAC water amount for you.
